Celebrating Salford Docks as the portal to our City, means honouring the contexts of migration, global trade; spices, cotton, land, love and community, which are the foundations of our shared home together.

Come to one of our eight workshops held in each of the Salford boroughs throughout the year where together we will gather your stories of Salford life, love, music, culture, food and family recipes, from yonder years to the present. We'll come together over community meals, eating and weaving together just as we would have done 100 years ago! Join us in yarning and weaving our collective stories and uplifting legacies of care and community connection - growing the fabric of our community heart together.

With food from Ireland and Sierra Leone we will eat together and follow the story of Anne Adejemi's family which started at the Salford Dock dances, as we welome your Salford life and stories to be shared and memorialised through our community rag rug making. Bring along stories, fabrics and recipes you want to share and weave at our community dinners. We’ll provide the Hearth and Kitchen, all you need to do is bring your heart.

Everyone will be welcome to our big finale event in November to hear our stories and see our community art in celebration of our City of Sanctuary and shared Salford home.
